In 2000 the port handled 52111,7 thousand tons of cargo, which is 9,6% growth compared to 1999. Throughput of dry cargo amounted in 2000 to 11 611,4 thousand tons while handling of bulk liquid commodities made up 40 500,3 thousand tons. The growth was achieved in handling of containers by 30%, oil cargo - by 13%, grain - by 13%, fertilisers - by 20%, metals - by 6% and paper - by 14%.
